ICT to support cultural learning – UK

A few years ago I was lucky to meet Louise and Kirsten from Do-be and were inspired by their enthusiasm and love of education and learning, so I was really pleased when I found that Do-be have a set of free resources that can be found at do-be.co.uk within this pack is a resource called Idea 3- Google Earth Tours which they suggest using for a history project, but I think this can be similarly used for finding out where the children in your class originate from and give the children an idea of distance etc.

This can also be used to zoom in and see exactly where family members have lived developing the classes cultural understanding of each other and opening up their eyes to a much different world than they are currently aware of within their town or city.

What other things can you suggest?

Below is an example from the site.
